Anti-diesel valve

Starting with 1973 USA models, the anti-deiseling valve was added. This is an idle-circuit cutoff solenoid. As soon as the key is turned off, the engine dies.

Troubleshooting

Turn the key to IGN. Then unplug the connector at the valve (under the engine). Does the Anti-disel valve have 12V at the wiring connector?

- test to see if you have power ay the plug that the solenoid connects to

Yes: Have someone turn the ignition on & off while you listen carefully to hear the 'click' as it is turned on.

No click? Remove the solenoid from the carb and take out the 'pin' in the middle & refit the main body of the solenoid. Start engine to see if all is well. If this fixes it, then repair wiring or replace solenoid with a working one.

No: Check your fuses...trace the wires and see why it's not getting power
